European space. Transnational and trans-local mobility

A census survey on the students and teachers of the University will show the central position of the University of Padua in the mobility circuits during specific periods of European history, the identity of Padua, but also the importance of specific international connections in the conception and development of innovative ideas and scientific-disciplinary practices, from anatomy to botany, from Aristotelian philosophy to philology. This kind of analysis will interweave with the assessment of the impact of this circulation on the development of ideas of religious tolerance and political freedom or, on the contrary, on the limitation of ideas of tolerance and political freedom.
