Study award in honour of Elena Lucrezia Cornaro Piscopia Università degli studi di Padova

The wider project for the history of the 800 years of the University includes a study award dedicated to a young scholar who graduated in Philosophy from the University of Padua on 25 June 1678, becoming the world’s first woman to graduate.

The award is dedicated to the participation of women in the almost 8 centuries of the University’s history. It aspires to solicit work to rediscover and enhance the female presence in the University, with the goal of rebuilding the history of knowledge, research and teaching, to which women have committed themselves over time, and to identify and describe the authoritative contribution of female figures who have studied and/or worked in our University in every scientific-disciplinary area.

The award applies to young male and female scholars who have graduated from the University of Padua with a Master’s degree or PhD in any scientific-disciplinary area. PhD students who carry out research on the theme of the competition may also apply.

This is the second edition of the award. The deadline for submitting applications is April 27, 2020.
